When Brene Brown spoke in Sydney back in 2019 the ICC was sold-out and the audience was transfixed. The vibe in the venue was charged yet loving. Brene seems to attract followers who want to demonstrate kindness and acceptance. It was a nice atmosphere to be a part of.

So, what makes Brene Brown so universally popular? I think it’s because she embodies the very ideas she talks about. She talks about the importance of being vulnerable by sharing her own vulnerabilities. She makes acknowledging the role shame plays in life by explaining how it has affected hers. She qualifies her approach to leadership with research evidence and lived experiences.

“She is a master storyteller, making her ideas easy to understand, safe to embrace, and life changing.”

Brene gained attention thanks to her TED talk discussing her research on shame and vulnerability. Her willingness to expose her flaws, her insights, her challenges and her life changes culminated in a presentation that was authentic and heart driven. When you watch it, you are right there with her.

"Brene makes personal development on a very deep level safe and acceptable.”

We’ve made “Brene Bundles” available on our website because once you read one book you are going to want to read them all. It’s also a fantastic way to follow the evolution of her research, from personal application to leadership in a workplace. Those of us who are hard-core fans can see how, even though Dare to Lead is a stand-alone title, it is a nod to the personal development found in the other books first.

Pick any copy of a Brene Brown book and learn for yourself why we all love her.
