What is it about?
This is a business book focused on strategies to maximise opportunities and connections at work. Ultimately it is a book about sales and sales strategies, but it also covers communication and creative thinking. Although this is an older business book (2000) some of the retro ideas presented in the book would be seen as new or different today, so worthy of consideration here.
Why should I read it?
It has lots of time-tested ideas and strategies to use the resources you already have available in business. It includes advice on how to identify your Unique Selling Proposition (USP) and the value of really understanding your customer. It’s a great read because it’s a business relationship book that provides the foundations of marketing and sales and is not distracted by today’s online challenges. It’s basic groundwork in business development.
Is it a challenging read?
It’s an easy book to read but it is over 350 pages so allocate time to get through it. Get Everything You Can is not difficult to follow and, in fact, returning to basics is actually quite inspiring.
