What is it about?
My most favourite Brene Brown book. The Gifts of Imperfection is about embracing our inability to be perfect all the time. It is a fantastic read for small business owners who often feel they have to be all things to all people. The book gives you permission to be vulnerable, authentic and real. It is these traits that people most feel drawn to.
Why should I read it?
If you are a tired and emotionally exhausted business owner or leader you need to read this book. Brown poses some wonderful arguments for letting go of perfection. She explains how authenticity strengthens our ability to lead others and builds strong relationships. Imperfection can lead to innovation at work and ignoring ego can produce a more balanced and fulfilled life. It’s my recommended read for any leader or small business owner and will be a staple support when times are tough at work.
Is it a challenging read?
No – it’s an engaging, honest and very frank self-help, insightful read.
