What is it about?
This is a timely book that describes the work burnout experience and provides practical guidelines to overcome it. Lisham does an excellent job detailing why workplace burnout is a risk and the signs the experience is imminent. In particular, the space for reflection and learning throughout the book is invaluable.
Why should I read it?
If you are struggling to cope at work this is a terrific book to read. The tell-tale signs of burnout may include insomnia, excessive worry, unexplainable lack of interest in everything, plus experiencing feelings of being unable to cope or make decisions. If you recognise these symptoms this book will prove to be invaluable. It provides an understanding of the experience but importantly ways to navigate out of burnout. This is a great book to gift to someone you feel might need some extra support with their mental health.
Is it a challenging read?
This is written in a very relaxed and easy to understand tone. Highly recommended.
