What is it about?
This is the first of Branson’s biography books where he talks about the establishment of Virgin records and all the other businesses he built after that. It’s a great insight into the start-up process and even though the first store was built decades ago, Branson’s thinking processes remain relevant today. It’s an inspirational story for those who are in the start-up space.
Why should I read it?
Branson shares some great insights into brand building and risk-taking. It is a motivating read particularly if you are looking for an honest account of the challenges that faced him in the early days. Reading this and then noting where/what he is doing today makes for a fascinating entrepreneurial journey. Worth a read to step into the mind of a serial entrepreneur.
Is it a challenging read?
The book is written in the first person, and at times it feels like you’re both having a chat. This makes it an easy read but it is quite a page-heavy purchase. For the complete Branson experience check out our Branson Bundle and save.
