What is it about?
Bryant has interviewed 200 successful CEOs to find out what makes a good company great. In particular, Bryant articulates how innovation is fostered in an organisation and the importance of company culture to nurture growth. Although this book has a few years on it now, the organisational approaches are worth revisiting because the processes to build great work teams remains the same
Why should I read it?
This book is about how leaders must execute actions to create innovative teams at work. There are some excellent examples in the book. The notion about work teams not being family is excellent and should be echoed in more leadership books in fact. It provides good insight into how leaders need to behave to inspire innovation and productivity from others. There are great tips here.
Is it a challenging read?
Not challenging but rather it is engaging. This would be a book to read if you are looking for ways to inspire and motivate your employees to be more innovative and proactive at work. If you don’t have employees this may not be the book for you.
