What is it about?
I'm not surprised this book has been the success it has over the years. It's like reading a course on the DISC profiling system and thinking about how to work with people who are different to you. Yes, there have been arguments about the impossibility of putting people into simple silos but that's not the point. Erikson helps us to appreciate the differences amongst us and how to acknowledge that in the way we communicate with one another.
Why should I read it?
If you are a leader or aspiring leader I would recommend reading this book. However, keep an open mind. It is not the only communication book you should read but it is a great easy way to start to think about working with different personality types.
Is it a challenging read?
If you are keen to improve your communication style and effectiveness you will likely find this a very engaging read.
