What is it about?
Chelsea Pottenger is an Australian author who has used her own health challenges to highlight the importance of self-care as part of the business ownership process. Using lots of real-world examples this is an (almost) simple approach to understanding our brain physiology and the steps we can take to reduce stress in our bodies. Starting with an understanding of the chemistry of stress, Pottenger steps the reader through a range of ideas and strategies to reduce the strain on our mental health.
Why should I read it?
This is a great book about self-care. It’s timely given stress and workplace mental health is recognised as a costly problem in workplaces. It’s full of easy to do, practical ideas to become more mindful of our habits and actions on a daily basis. It’s also a great gift idea to give to a friend or colleague who may be feeling stressed or overwhelmed with work at present.
Is it a challenging read?
This is an easy, done in a weekend read.
