What is it about?
Think Again is a book that challenges our habitual way of thinking. Grant is a renown psychologist with a focus on learning and thinking styles. He brings his depth of research to this book to argue that it's important to challenge the way that we think, and use that awareness to really listen to others, especially when their opinion is counter to our own. The book gives us permission to be wrong, and ways to navigate that realisation. The second part of the book focuses on how we communicate to others and give space to the views of others. Importantly, the second part of the book identifies how to affect the opinions of others by addressing sound thinking processes. The final part of the book is about building learning communities where people are encouraged to engage in active thinking. It's a how-to, to build communities where difference of opinion is valued.
Why should I read it?
If you're looking to improve your ability to consider the opinions of others, this is a good book to read. If you have a diverse team at work, and am trying to manage the opinions of others while keeping everyone engaged, this is a terrific and very helpful read. If you want to build learning communities, Grant's book will be very relevant and a valuable read.
Is it a challenging read?
